We built WordPress support AI-first — that's why a task costs $25, not $150
Most WordPress help is priced by the hour because a person does every step. We rebuilt the whole path around AI, and kept humans where judgement actually matters.
If you have ever needed one small thing changed on a WordPress site — a phone number that is three years out of date, a menu link pointing at a page you deleted, a plugin that started breaking your contact form — you already know the strange economics of it. The change takes ninety seconds. Getting someone to make it takes a week and costs more than the change is worth.
That is not because anyone is being greedy. It is because of how the work is normally shaped.
Why small WordPress jobs cost so much
A traditional agency or freelancer has to put a person on every step of your request. Somebody reads your email. Somebody asks which page you meant. Somebody logs in, makes the change, checks it, writes back. Each of those steps is a human being's time, and time is the thing you are actually buying.
So the price cannot really go below an hour of attention, no matter how small the change is. Support desks solve this by batching people into queues, which is why you wait. Agencies solve it with retainers, which is why you pay monthly for months in which you needed nothing.
Both are sensible answers to the same constraint: a person has to do every step.
We removed the constraint instead of pricing around it
HealMySite is built the other way round. The automation does not sit at the front answering questions while humans do the real work behind it — it does the work.
- It reads what you wrote and works out whether it is something we can actually do.
- It checks your live site first: is it reachable, is it WordPress, will it accept the access you gave us.
- It makes the change itself, through the WordPress API, scoped to exactly the one thing you asked for.
- It then goes back to your live page and checks the change is really there before anything is charged.
That last step is the one that matters most, and it is the one a chatbot bolted onto a help desk can never do. Answering a question is not the same as finishing a job.
Where the money actually goes
When no person is required for the common path, the cost of a task stops being an hour of salary and becomes a few cents of compute plus the engineering behind it. That is the whole reason a verified task can be US$25 instead of a call-out fee.
It also changes what we can honestly promise. Because the automation verifies its own work, we can hold your card and only charge after the change is confirmed on your site. If we cannot do it, the hold is released and you pay nothing. No agency can offer that at this price, because their cost is incurred whether or not the job succeeds. Ours mostly is not.
You are not paying for someone's afternoon. You are paying for a verified result.
What we did not automate — deliberately
Being AI-first is not the same as being unattended. There are decisions we will not hand to a model, and we are specific about them:
- Money. Refunds, releasing a hold, retrying a paid task — a person decides those, every time.
- Anything the evidence does not explain. If the automation cannot show why something happened, it stops and asks a human rather than writing a confident guess.
- Your site's boundaries. It only ever makes the one change you described. It does not tidy, upgrade, or improve anything you did not ask for.
When support answers you automatically, the message says so and tells you how to reach a person. We would rather you know which one you are talking to.
Are we pioneers?
Plenty of companies have added AI to support in the last two years. Almost all of it is the same shape: a model that answers questions faster, in front of humans who still do the work.
What is genuinely uncommon is what we have done — putting the model on the tools. Diagnosing a live site, making the change, and verifying it independently before taking payment is a different problem from generating a reply, and it is where we have spent our engineering. We think that is the direction this whole category moves in, and we would rather be early and narrow than broad and vague.
Narrow is the honest word for it. We automate a specific set of WordPress changes, we tell you before you pay whether yours is one of them, and we are adding to that set as we prove each one is safe.
What this means if you just want something fixed
Describe the one thing you want done. You will find out in minutes — not days — whether it is something we can complete, and you are not charged to find out. If it is, we do it and verify it, and only then does US$25 leave your card.
No subscription, no retainer, no hourly minimum. That is not a discount. It is what the work costs when a person is not required for every step of it.
